Approximately 10 years ago, Artefakt mixed the second podcast for the then-new FIBER podcast series. Leading up to the present, the duo has developed an enchanting and tactile sound that fuses organic and digital worlds. Internationally acclaimed, their releases and live/DJ-sets continue to push the boundaries of Techno, constantly changing the DNA of their own productions from highly layered and spiralling dancefloor records to organically growing downtempo rhythms. After their first two albums Kinship (2017) and Monsoon (2019), Robin Koek and Nick Lapien released the stunning album Days Bygone (Delsin, 2021) in a world forever altered by the pandemic.
After 10 years, we are honoured to invite Artefakt back to present their brand new album. It is another step in their ongoing journey into deeper, more meditative rhythms. With this album, they once again abandon forthright techno dynamics and present mesmerising sound worlds with nimble arps and gliding pads. The title of the album might hint at a process we have all been undergoing for the past year – leaving behind old structures, in the light of the still unknown.
Artefakt is presented in collaboration with The Rest Is Noise | Muziekgebouw. It is part of a rescheduled Terrace programme that was to take place in the summer of 2021.
