Orit Halpern is currently an associate professor at Concordia University in Montréal. Her work bridges the histories of science, computing, and cybernetics with a design and art practice. Halpern focuses especially on the histories and practices of big data, interactivity, and ubiquitous computing.
She is the author of Beautiful Data: A History of Vision and Reason since 1945, (2015), a genealogy of interactivity, the interface, and “big data”.
